Your Run of the Mill FInancial Policies
Cross Trainers promotes the development of numerous small churches
rather than a few large churches because small fellowships better
satisfy biblical criteria. Small churches more effectively promote
worship, evangelism, fellowship, individual participation, spiritual
growth, personal accountability and economy.

Consistent with this conceptand distinct from most ministriesCross
Trainers has no ambition to grow into a program with a $ multi-million
budget and hundreds of employees. We have, in fact, no paid employees.
Its our belief that we need to exploit the technology that
God has provided to effectively communicate God's ideas to those
who may be interested. Since many of the programs and services that
Cross Trainers might promote are already provided by other godly
organizations, sometimes all that is necessary is that Cross Trainers
helps make interested Christians aware of the services that others
have to offer.
As a result, Cross Trainers budget is far less than that of most
churches. Whats more, at this time we do not have any staff
on payroll and have never paid a cent out for wages, insurance,
or other employee benefits.
Our major expenses have consisted of contributions toward travel
expenses to meet with and assist others, as well as outright gifts
to missionaries and Christian servants around the world.
It is not that it would be wrong to take a modest salary if the
funds were available, for the workman is worthy of his hire."
But at this time we are able to provide our own needs, so our entire
budget, such as it is, is divided between supporting others outside
this ministry, contributing toward travel expenses, and purchasing
office supplies. Even the computers and other equipment are on loan
to us, and do not represent an investment from our supporters.
What's more, when someone designates an offering, we have thus
far sent the entire offering to the program designated, paying any
bank transfer rates out of the Becker's offerings. We will continue
this policy for as long as possible.
Pastor and Mrs. Becker traveled to Great Britain for
England 2005. Their trip cost far less than one might
expect, uner $3,000, and they paid virtually all of the expenses
out of their own pockets through offerings they made to this
ministry as well as out-of-pocket payments.
Although we are happy to receive prayerful offerings
from Christians who want to help extend the work of Cross Trainers,
we do not want anyone to take from a program that they presently
support in order to help us. More importantly, we do not want anyone
to put their family or future at risk by making a sacrificial gift,
and we most certainly do not want anyone to borrow money to assist
us.
Many people have testified that Pastor and Mrs. Becker
have made many great personal sacrifices through the years for the
glory of God. At 67, he is more determined than ever that this ministry
must be of Christ.
Consequently we would rather not have you give to
this work unless you have prayed about your offering and are well
persuaded in your own heart that this is the will of God.
Please feel free to turn to another page without any
sense of guilt or regret. We are eager to have you learn more about
us, and we are very grateful for your prayers.
We rejoice in you, and as the Lord helps us recognize
and understand your needs, we will pray for you.
